Young Volunteers Give Green-Wood a Makeover

A big thank you to eight young volunteers who helped give a makeover to the Pierrepont lot in Green-Wood Cemetery recently. The group re-set ledger stones back onto their bases, pointed the joints on memorials, and cleaned the granite, marble, slate, and brownstone memorials on the lot, where 105 family members rest marked by more than 50 memorials.

The restoration of the main Pierrepont monument is being done by the A. Ottavino Corp. under the direction of Kate Burns Ottavino, and is part of The Green-Wood Historic Fund’s fascinating “Saved in Time" restoration project.
