Today was the first day of the Youthmarket farmstand on Fort Hamilton Parkway--anybody go? How did it look? What did you get?
NY1 has a great report from the stand, featuring interviews with a couple of the young chefs and Council Member Brad Lander. And one neighbor notes that it's a welcome addition to the area:
“It's very difficult to get stuff that's freshly grown, locally fresh and inexpensive,” said Illya Vett, a neighborhood resident. “I love the variety that they have; I think it's really going to help us out around here.”
The Youthmarket will be on Fort Hamilton by the library every Saturday from 9am to 3pm through October 29.
