1st Chicken-Raising Permit Granted In Yorktown

The town board approved the raising of chickens in residential areas three years ago.

YORKTOWN, NY — It’s been three years since the Yorktown Town Board OK’d raising chickens in residential areas, and now a permit has actually been issued.

There are several conditions homeowners must comply with, including specific lot size and creation of a waste management plan.
