2-Car Accident on I-684 Injures 1 Friday, Delays Due to Closed Lanes

NORTH SALEM, NY — State Police are investigating a two-car collision Friday on I-684 in the Town of North Salem.

Around 3:15 p.m., in the area of Hardscrabble Road, an SUV taxi was stopped on the shoulder of the roadway. It was occupied by the driver and one passenger.

Police said a white Nissan Pathfinder, with only the driver insider, was traveling southbound and struck the rear of the taxi.

The passenger in the taxi sustained serious injuries.

State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact investigators at the Somers barracks by calling 914-769-2600.

Heavy delays can be expected on I-684 because two lanes have been closed for the investigation.
