NEW YORK — If you're in search of a place to spend a night out this Valentine's Day, and you happen to be in the neighborhood, two eateries in New York were named among the most romantic restaurants in the country.

Restaurant reservation company OpenTable analyzed more than 12.4 million diner reviews to come up with a list of the 100 most romantic restaurants in the country, and these Erie County establishments were included:

On OpenTable Giancarlo's — rated 4.8 stars — is described as "an original concept that celebrates the Sicilian-immigrant culinary experience," with the food being a historical mosaic influenced by conquering nations. "At Giancarlo's, our love of history-rich Sicilian cuisine is combined with our interpretation of both the great American Steakhouse and the Neapolitan Pizzeria."

Popular dishes include lobster ravioli, lobster linguini and bang bang shrimp.

OpenTable compiled its list ahead of Valentine's Day, when restaurants will likely see a resurgence of couples dining out after two years of lower numbers because of the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said.

"Our data suggests that Valentine's Day dining is rebounding this year, with reservations up 30% nationwide compared to last year," said Susan Lee, Chief Growth Officer at OpenTable. "We're excited to see this momentum leading up to what has traditionally been one of the biggest dining days of the year for restaurants."
