5 People Injured, 2 Arrested in Car Crash on Route 35

Yorktown police say both drivers were drunk.

Adam Kaczor, 19, faces three charges: driving while intoxicated, failure to yield the right of way and improper left turn.

Dennis Marralheiro, 35, faces one: felony DWI.

Police say both Yorktown residents were involved in a two-car accident on Route 35 at Broad Street, at about 11:51 p.m. Dec. 18. Kaczor had three 19-year-old passengers in the car.

Police said all five were transported to Westchester Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The charge against Marralheiro was upgraded to a felony because he has a previous DWI conviciton, police said.

Both Marralheiro and Kaczor were charged and processed at the hospital and released to hospital staff. They are due in Yorktown town court Jan. 22.
