SHRUB OAK, NY — The first day of school may be closer than you think. So, it’s time to dust off those backpacks and make some plans. To help, here are some important dates noted in the Lakeland Central School District Calendar for 2017-18:
- Superintendent’s Conference Day: August 30-31
- Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 4
- First day of school: Sept. 5
- Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 21-22
- Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 9
- Superintendent’s Conference Day: Nov. 7
- Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 10
- Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 22-24
- Holiday recess: Dec. 25-Jan. 1 (school resumes Jan. 2)
- Martin Luther King Jr. holiday (school closed): Jan. 15
- President's Day Weekend: Feb. 19-20
- Superintendent’s Conference Day: March 9
- Spring recess: March 29-April 6
- Memorial Day recess (school closed): May 28-29
- Last day of school: June 22
