2017-18 School Calendar For Yorktown District
The new school year starts soon. Here are dates you and your children need to know.
YORKTOWN, NY — There are a few more beach days, but the reality is, the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2017-18 school year in the Yorktown Central School District.
- School opens: Sept. 5
- Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 21-22
- Columbus Day: Oct. 9
- Superintendent’s conference: Nov. 7
- Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 10
- Thanksgiving: Half day on Nov. 22, schools closed on Nov. 23-24
- Holiday recess (school closed): Starts Dec. 25, and school resumes Jan. 2
- Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 15
- Winter Recess (school closed): Feb. 19-23
- Spring recess (school closed): March 30-April 6
- Memorial Day (school closed): May 28
- Last day of School: June 22
Weather make-up days will be taken in the following order: April 6, April 5 and April 4.
