22-Year Old Charged With Possession Of Forged Instrument: Yorktown Police Department

He is accused of passing a $100 counterfeit bill at a local business, according to police.

​Yorktown Police report the arrest of a twenty-two-year-old Albany, GA resident on an arrest warrant for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st, a class “C” Felony. On January 23rd, 2026 the Yorktown Police Department took a report of a forgery complaint from 2001 Commerce St., in the Town of Yorktown. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as the defendant. It is alleged that the defendant passed a $100 counterfeit bill at the above location with the intent to defraud the store clerk. Yorktown Police then applied for and received a warrant for the defendant’s arrest. On 03/02/2026 Yorktown P.D. was advised by Highland Falls PD that they had custody of the defendant. Officers responded to Highland Falls PD’s location and placed the defendant in custody to be transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters. The officers executed the arrest warrant and began arrest processing. After arrest processing was completed, the defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Cohen Pierson. The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear before the Yorktown Justice Court on March 19th, 2026 at 6:00 PM.
