UPDATE: Toddler Among 3 Dead in Fatal Taconic Crash
The northbound SUV became airborne and smashed into southbound traffic, police said.

UPDATE: State police have released details about the 4-car, 3-person fatal crash on the Taconic Parkway Saturday.
A 2004 BMW sport utility vehicle operated by 33-year-old Nerim Sinanovic was traveling northbound when it exited the roadway onto the center median and became airborne into the southbound lanes, police said.
The BMW struck a 2001 Toyota operated by Donald M. Mulvaney, 63, of Brooklyn, New York, and a 2015 Ford operated by 28-year-old Tara F. Duggins, of Hampton, Virginia. A 2003 Acura, operated by Jennifer Enriquez, 27, of Peekskill, New York, sideswiped Mulvaney’s vehicle and came to rest after striking the center guide rail.

At this time, there are three confirmed fatalities associated with this crash.
Leona Sinanovic, 2 years old, of the Bronx, a rear passenger in the BMW, died as a result of the collision. Mr. Sinanovic and two other passengers in his vehicle were transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Ledell Mulvaney, age 61, and Katherine Mulvaney, 31, both of Brooklyn, New York, were traveling in the vehicle operated by Donald Mulvaney. Ledell and Katherine Mulvaney were pronounced deceased following the collision. Mr. Mulvaney remains in critical condition at this time.

New York State Police responded to a four-car collision on the southbound side of the Taconic State Parkway, just north of Baldwin Road, at 2:50 p.m. Saturday.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a BMW sport utility vehicle was traveling northbound when it exited the roadway into the center median, struck an earth embankment, and became airborne into the southbound lanes. The BMW struck two southbound vehicles and a third southbound vehicle was also involved in the collision.
There are three confirmed fatalities, police said. Also, one person is listed in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center, five people are listed in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center, and two were treated and released from Hudson Valley Hospital.
The names of the victims will be released pending notification of next of kin, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The parkway was closed for hours during the investigation of the scene.
