3 Lakeland Schools on Lockout Thursday While Police Search for Burglary Suspect
There were two attempted break-ins on the same street.

YORKTOWN, NY — Attempted burglaries at two Yorktown homes Thursday led three schools to initiate lockouts.
A resident of Pine Court in Shrub Oak told Yorktown police said a man was confronted trying to break into a home sometime after 9 a.m., and police advised the Lakeland school district to go into lockout mode during the search, lohud.com said.
There was another failed burglary attempt in a second house on the same street Thursday.

The school district’s Facebook page said the schools that were on lockout were Lakeland High School, Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School and Benjamin Franklin Elementary School.
The Yorktown Police Department Facebook page had the following description of the suspect: "A white male subject described as 'Average height and build wearing a black hooded sweatshirt (hoodie), black pants, sunglasses and a black back pack.' "
