In addition, around Nov. 22, 2023, Giannetta promoted a video file depicting another apparent child (around three to six years in age) engaging in sexual conduct by uploading that file to Kik, prosecutors said.
"Offenders who target children will be prosecuted with every resource at my office’s disposal, ensuring that underage victims remain protected from further harm and that dangerous predators are not able to reoffend," DA Cacace said. "This is why I have tasked two specialized bureaus within my office to work day and night to detect, investigate and prosecute all forms of child sexual abuse."
"My office works collaboratively with all of our law enforcement partners to combat these heinous crimes, and I want to thank to the New York State Police for their investigatory work on this case in particular."
The case was initiated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and was investigated by New York State Police, Troop K, Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Computer Crime Unit.
The case is being prosecuted by CSAM Bureau Chief Laura Forbes.
