5 Local Vets Picked for the 4th Annual 40th District Veterans Hall of Fame

The ceremony will take place Nov. 20 for these Somers and Yorktown residents and others in the largest group yet to be inducted.

Every year, State Sen. Greg Ball (R-Patterson) solicits nominations from the villages, towns and cities in the 40th New York State Senate District.

This year’s nominees include three from Somers—Chief Warrant Officer Terence D. Queally, Jr, Louis Bonomini and Senior Master Sergeant Timothy McArdle— and two from Yorktown—Senior Master Sergeant Albert Laughlin III and Sergeant 1st Class Jack Rucci. Click on their names to read about them.

“I created the Veterans Hall of Fame to recognize outstanding men and women who nobly and selflessly served the United States of America. I have had the privilege of meeting and honoring so many wonderful veterans over the past three years and I am excited to introduce the 4th class of veterans – the largest class yet,” said Ball. “These extraordinary veterans devoted their lives to a cause greater than one’s self, nobly dedicating themselves to preserving the safety and freedom of the American people through acts of courage, honor and integrity.”
