73 Tickets Issued: Speed Week Gets Underway In The Hudson Valley

SOMERS, NY — On June 7, 2018, members of the NYSP Somers conducted a Speed Enforcement Detail on I-684, Westchester County in conjunction with the "Speed Week" campaign.

During this detail a total of 73 tickets were issued including 57 speeding tickets, 5 seatbelt tickets and 11 other tickets for violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The "Speed Week" campaign began Thursday morning and it runs through Wednesday.

It's a week-long enforcement initiative to crack down on speeding and aggressive drivers across the Empire State.

During the August 2017 Speed Week campaign, state police issued more than 19,000 traffic tickets including more than 7,900 for speeding, and over 580 for distracted driving.
