75-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Repeatedly Stabbing Victim: Yorktown Police

The victim, who was stabbed in the upper back, was taken to Westchester Medical Center, according to authorities.

YORKTOWN, NY — A septuagenarian is behind bars following a violent scene in Westchester County.

The Yorktown Police Department says that 75-year-old Lynn Matney, of Yorktown Heights, was arrested and charged with felony first-degree assault.

On June 22, around 5:42 p.m., officers responded to an address after receiving a report of a stabbing. At the scene, police found a victim with what seemed to be several stab wounds.

After further investigation, officers determined that Matney stabbed the victim's upper back area with a knife.

The victim was taken to Westchester Medical Center.

Matney was arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing. She was then arraigned, with bail set at $100,00 cash/ $250,000 bond/$500,000 partially secured bond. Matney was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail.

She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on July 9.
