8 'Urban Explorers' Arrested Trespassing At Abandoned IBM Complex: NYSP
State police say that since February of this year, 42 people have been arrested for trespassing on IBM property in Somers.

SOMERS, NY — If you want to explore abandoned ruins of the Hudson Valley's industrial past, it might be best to do it online rather than in person.
The New York State Police say that on Monday, around 8:20 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the former IBM facility in Somers after receiving a report of trespassers.
Once at the scene, troopers found eight people on the property.

The following were all arrested and charged with misdemeanor third-degree criminal trespass:
- Jacob Fernando Enrique, 20, of Ossining
- Brandon S. Alevalo, 19, of Ossining
- Brittany G. Guallpa, 19, of Ossining
- Brian Morales, 19, of Ossining
- 18-year-old male from Ossining
- 18-year-old male from Verplanck
- 18-year-old male from Montrose
- 18-year-old female from Ossining
After being processed at SP Somers, all eight were scheduled to appear in the Town of Somers Court on July 6.

"The New York State Police urge the public to stay out of these properties," NYSP said. "Our priority is to protect public safety, enforce the law, and prevent avoidable injuries and tragedies."
