HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Despite a growing chorus of concern about crime in the media, there are plenty of relatively safe places to call home in New York, and a perhaps surprising number of them are right here in the Hudson Valley, according to crime statistics analyzed by SafeWise.

SafeWise, a security product review platform, looked at FBI crime statistics for cities/towns in New York to compile its 12th annual Safest Cities report. A total of 63 cities met the criteria to be considered for ranking.

"Everyone wants to feel safe at home," SafeWise wrote. "Whether you're checking in on your current city or scouting out a new one, we've crunched the numbers on crime rates across the country."
