Accident Leads To Multiple Charges For Mahopac Man: Yorktown Police
The man was arrested at the hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mahopac was arrested an automobile accident on Saw Mill River Road and faces multiple charges. Yorktown Police said August Joseph Wines, 42, of East Lovell Street, was involved in a crash that occurred around 2:15 p.m. April 28.
Police said Wines was driving the vehicle without an interlock alcohol detection device. He was also allegedly driving without a seatbelt, and police said he refused to submit to a breath test.
Wines was taken to Westchester Medical Center for his injuries sustained in the crash, where he was arrested and charged with the following:

- Operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device, a misdemeanor
- Refusal to submit to a pre breath test, violation
- Operate a motor vehicle without a seatbelt, violation
- Driving on the shoulder, violation
- Failing to maintain lane, violation
- Speed not reasonable or prudent, violation

After being arraigned, Wines was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court May 11.
