YORKTOWN, NY — A domestic dispute that involved an assault with a vacuum, won't be swept under the rug, according to police.
The Yorktown Police Department says that 52-year-old Ljendita Gjonbalaj, of Yorktown, was arrested and charged with felony second-degree attempted assault.
On April 22, around 1:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Yorktown home after receiving a report of a physical domestic assault.
The victim had contacted police saying that he had been allegedly assaulted by Gjonbalaj.
Investigators say Gjonbalaj hit the victim in the face with a vacuum causing physical injury.
She was arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing. Gjonbalaj was arraigned before a judge, and a temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
Gjonbalaj was released on her own recognizance.
