2 Adults Who Encouraged Children To Fight At Westchester Shopping Center Have Been Arrested: Police

SOMERS, NY — Boys will be boys, but grownups should know better.

On Aug 20, at 1:34 a.m., New York State Police in Somers were dispatched to Westchester Medical Center for a report of an assault that had occurred earlier involving a 14-year-old boy. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of a physical altercation.

Investigators from the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Somers say that the injuries stemmed from an ongoing dispute between a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, both of Mahopac.

On Aug. 18, an argument occurred between the two juveniles while they were at Somers Commons, located in the town of Somers, police said.

On Aug. 19, the juveniles were again at Somers Commons, where the dispute escalated into a physical altercation, according to police.

Following the altercation, 39-year-old Evad Vucetovic, of Mahopac, and 37-year-old Alban Gjevukaj, of Carmel, were contacted and later arrived at the mall. Investigators say that Vucetovic instructed the two juveniles to have an additional physical altercation to resolve the ongoing dispute. During the incident, Gjevukaj pulled a sweatshirt over one child's head, according to cops.

On Aug. 21, Vucetovic was arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in the Town of Somers Court and released on his own recognizance.
