Yorktown Resident Jack Kearney Honored by Society of Professional Journalists

News 12 Westchester was honored by the National Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists with a 2011 Sigma Delta Chi Award for excellence in journalism in the category of “Feature Reporting.”   The Sigma Delta Chi awards recognize outstanding work published or broadcast in 2011.  Winners were chosen from over 1,700 entries covering print, radio, television and online. 

"I’m so very proud of the News 12 team that put this phenomenal story together,” said Janine Rose, News 12 Westchester News Director. “We thank Sigma Delta Chi for the recognition of their hard work and efforts."

The Sigma Delta Chi Award was for presented for the News 12 Westchester special segment, When Cultures Clash.  The honorees include: anchor/reporter Tara Rosenblum, photographer Jack Kearney, photographer/editor Eric Leeds, and editor Gina Curran.
