Annual Tractor and Antique Car Parade, Saturday 9/12

Farm tractors of all sizes take over Yorktown streets

It’s often said that everyone loves a parade. Streets are temporarily closed to regular traffic, and residents line up on sidewalks along the parade route to enjoy the happy procession. Most parades feature fire trucks or uniformed veterans accompanied by convertibles with politicians, and local scouting troops marching behind banners. Once in a while a marching band. All good stuff – it’s always fun to see people you know proudly marching in uniform.

Well, every year during the Grange Fair, Yorktown hosts perhaps the most unique parade in the entire region – the annual Tractor and Antique Car Parade

Harkening back to bygone days when Yorktown was an agricultural community and it was common to see big farm tractors lumbering along town roads, the Yorktown Grange Tractor Club presents an impressive array of farm tractors of all shapes and sizes, accompanied by select antique cars and trucks, all parading through town to the Grange fairgrounds where they are on display throughout the Fair.
