Area Jewish Congregations Plan Inspiring Shavuot Celebration

Event Will Feature Prayer, Study Sessions, a Puppet Show, Lively Music and Fun Games

Jewish congregations from Northern Westchester, Putnam and Danbury invite members of the community to a virtual Shavuot celebration on Thursday, May 28th, 6-8:30pm. Shavuot marks the giving of the Torah to the Jewish people on Mount Sinai.

A group of area rabbis will lead eight sessions (you can attend as many as you like) featuring prayer, study sessions, a puppet show, lively music and fun games. Through the magic of Zoom, the rabbis will lead insightful discussions of the basics of Shavuot, what happened on Mount Sinai, the Ten Commandments and the Book of Ruth.

Hebrew Congregation of Somers, Reform Temple of Putnam Valley, Temple Beth Shalom (Mahopac), Yorktown Jewish Center, Temple Beth Am (Yorktown), First Hebrew Congregation (Peekskill) and Temple Beth El (Danbury) organized the event.
