Breaking Into Barber Shop To Get To Jeweler's: Yorktown Police

YORKTOWN, NY — Police say they caught a burglar breaking into a Yorktown jewelry store — from the barber shop next door. They had received an anonymous call about a burglary at 2008 Crompond Road at 3:44 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers dispatched to the scene found the barbershop door unlocked and saw someone inside. (For more neighborhood stories like this, sign up for Patch’s daily newsletter, news alerts and updates.)

So with the help of the Westchester County Police and New York State Police, they surrounded the whole building.

They took Paul N. Shkreli into custody, alleging that he had broken into the jewelry store from inside the barbershop.

The 44-year-old Yonkers man was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail. He is due in Yorktown Town Court Oct. 17.
