Bronx Man Arrested For Stealing Lottery Tickets At Gulf Station: Cops

While the burglary took place on February 13, the suspect only turned himself in last week, according to Yorktown police.

YORKTOWN, NY — A New York City man who tried his luck at burglary in Yorktown ended up busted, according to police.

The Yorktown Police Department says that on February 13 of this year, around 3 a.m., officers responded to a commercial alarm activation at the Quick Stop Gulf on Crompond Rd.

Once on the scene, officers determined that a burglary had taken place with lottery tickets stolen by several suspects.

An investigation by a Yorktown detective led to a list of some potential suspects. In coordination with several law enforcement agencies, the detective identified suspects and obtained an arrest warrant from the Yorktown Justice Court.

28-year-old Christopher Almanzar, of the Bronx, was contacted about the arrest warrant and was told to surrender himself at the Yorktown Police Department.

On October 15, around 3:15 p.m., Almanzar arrived at the Yorktown Police headquarters, was arrested and then processed. He was charged with felony third degree burglary, felony third degree criminal mischief, and felony third degree grand larceny.

Almanzar was arraigned at the Yorktown Justice Court, was released on his own recognizance, and is scheduled to return to court on November 12.
