Bronx Woman Accused Of Trying To Steal From Bank Account

Police said they were alerted when the woman attempted an unauthorized withdrawal.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Bronx woman was accused of trying to steal thousands of dollars from a bank account.

The Yorktown Police Department said Ana M. Fernandez, 28, of Bronx, was charged with third-degree attempted grand larceny, a felony.

Police said, shortly before 3 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the Chase Bank at 720 Lee Boulevard for a report of a possible larceny.

An investigation at the scene found that Fernandez tried to make an unauthorized withdrawal of $16,000 from a Chase Bank account.

She was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department.

After being processed, Fernandez was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Oct. 14.
