Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium. A lifelong animal lover, Nicole always seeks to find ways to advocate for animals – in this case, with her camera. Photos in this exhibit include her rescue pets, other domestic animals, and animals from the wild or zoo. She is proud to exhibit these beautiful animals and hopes to raise awareness for animal well-being and adoption/rescue. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to SPCA Westchester.

We are very excited to have John Gallagher with us to teach this 6-week chess program! This class provides new and experienced students with a strong foundation in the rules and strategies needed to play the game of chess through guided instruction and supervised play. Students will learn fundamentals such as:
<ul><li>How each piece moves.</li><li>The point value of each piece.</li><li>Check and checkmate.</li><li>The different outcomes of the game. (i.e., win/lose/stalemate)</li><li>The different phases of the game and the ensuing strategies (i.e., opening/middlegame/endgame)</li><li>How to properly evaluate a position.</li><li>How to formulate and implement a plan.</li><li>How to visualize and conceptualize strategic ideas.</li><li>How to identify and assess a position's strengths and weaknesses.</li></ul>

With just a $20 registration fee (nonrefundable), you're in for an exciting day of strategy, fun, and friendly competition. Check-in begins at 12:30 pm, so be sure to arrive early! Get settled in, because by 1 pm, the games will be underway. We’ll be playing until 5 pm, with a delightful break in the middle for socializing and tasty refreshments.
There will be two rooms: one for American Mah Jongg and another for Chinese Mah Jongg. For the best experience, seasoned players are recommended, it's a timed game after all!
