Getting to Know A.I.

Event Details

Somers Library, 82 Primrose St, Katonah, NY, 10536

Monday, July 27,
in-person at 1 - 2 PM,
virtually at 6 - 7 PM

Presented by Juan Carlos Villagomez.
Available to attend at the library or from home via zoom.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence. It has always been around, ever since 1951 when a computer was taught to play chess. Ten years after that, another computer gained a voice and sang Daisy Bell. Today it can nearly mimic everything we have done as humans. Research science, write essays, create illustrations, and even drive cars! What are the pros in this? What are the cons?

Join us in this presentation about artificial intelligence, its evolution in recent years, its portrayal in literature, film, and tv that served as predictions, assurances, and warnings about the future. This is a discussion about artificial intelligence and its place alongside us in the postmodern world. We will even have computers here loaded with the A.I. known as Copilot for others to practice with!

Learn how A.I. has evolved, what to look out for, and ask is it for you? Join us!
