Canadian Caught in Yorktown Checkpoint

Yorktown police were conducting a DWI checkpoint Sept. 5 at Route 6 and East Main Street when Gaytri Narain drove up at about 1 a.m.

The 55-year-old Ontario resident appeared to be intoxicated, police said.

She refused a breath test and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. She was released on $400 bail to a family member, and is due in Yorktown town court Oct. 6.
