Cardinal Dolan To Celebrate Mass In Yorktown

The archbishop will be visiting the parish where vandals struck recently.

YORKTOWN, NY — Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York, will celebrate Mass at a Yorktown parish recently targeted by vandalism. According to a press release from the Archdiocese of New York, Dolan will celebrate the 5:15 p.m. Mass Saturday at Saint Patrick Church, 137 Moseman Road in Yorktown Heights.

Saint Patrick's Old Stone Church, which is the original parish church about a quarter mile away, was one of several churches and town buildings targeted by vandals Jan. 4.

A total of seven windows, including five antique stained glass windows, were damaged in the attack on the Old Stone Church.

Additionally, four glass doors were shattered at the Yorktown Stage, a menorah was toppled at Veterans' Field, multiple windows were broken at the John C. Hart Memorial Library, windows were destroyed at the First Presbyterian Church and St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Mohegan Lake was vandalized.
