Changes at Staples Shopping Center move forward
A restaurant tenant is still being sought for Staples Shopping Center. A homeowner tries to balance need to fence in a pool with town and DEC wetlands requirements. Night lighting at Hudson Valley Islamic Center being reviewed.

1. Fieldhome expansion/soccer field
The Fieldhome is still waiting for details of the license agreement with the town for the continued use of the soccer field and the conservation easement to be worked out. In the meantime, the home is considering changing the way it markets the proposed new independent living units.
2. Hudson Valley Islamic Center
Representatives of the Center, expressing their continued efforts to be good neighbors, disputed the contention that the lights are creating a problem for a specific neighboring homeowner. Planning Board members will visit the site during the evening hours.
3. Staples Shopping Center
With Burger Fi no longer interested in leasing space in the former Emigrant Bank building, the applicant showed the board a slightly modified plan that has the flexibility to accommodate a restaurant and a possible second retail tenant.
4. Yorktown Farms wetlands permit
A homeowner continues to be caught in a bind between the need to erect a fence around a new pool and his desire to extend the fence beyond the pool and into a wetland buffer.
