Con Ed said high winds made restoration difficult Friday, because there are many trees and pole that are down or broken. The electrical company has been giving priority to opening up roads, and addressing low-hanging wires. Once those are cleared, they have to check for damage to its system and then assign crew and equipment to the area to begin repairs.

Feiner said it could be Tuesday before all of his town’s residents have power restored.
