Cops: Pleasantville Woman Drove Getaway Car

State police arrested two women Friday in connection with a June shoplifting incident at the Walmart in Mohegan Lake.

Two women were arrested Nov. 20 by New York State police in connection with an incident at the Walmart in the Cortlandt Town Center June 22.

  • Jean M. Rodrigues, 55, of Yonkers, New York, faces a charge of Robbery in the 3rd Degree, A Class D Felony.
  • Miriam Gonzalez, 52, of Pleasantville faces a charge of Petit Larceny.

On June 22, 2015, Troopers were dispatched to Walmart in Cortlandt for a reported larceny. Walmart staff reported that Rodrigues stole more than $500 worth of merchandise. They also told police that when she was confronted by store security, she threatened to use a gun.

Gonzalez waited nearby in a vehicle and drove Rodrigues from the scene, police allege.

Rodrigues was arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail. She is due to return to the Cortlandt court on Dec. 4. Gonzalez was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Cortlandt Court for Nov. 30.
