Diana Lea Modesitt of Yorktown Heights Dies at 75

Modesitt worked with special needs children for 25 years.

YORKTOWN, NY —Diana Lea Modesitt of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away on July 27, 2016. She was 75. Diana formerly resided in Russellville, IN, and Terre Haute, IN.

She worked as a teacher’s aide with special needs children in Yorktown for 25 years. She previously enjoyed many years as a Team Mom with her kids’ sports.

Diana was born in Indianapolis, IN, to Embert and Louise Gardner. She was a 1959 graduate of Russellville High School

In 1962, she married Jon F. Modesitt at The Federated Church in Russellville, IN.

She will be remembered by her family and friends for her compassion and kindness to those who entered and passed through her life

Diana was preceded in death by her two sons, Jeffrey and Eric. She is survived by her husband Jon Modesitt; daughter Michele Modesitt; granddaughter Nichole Modesitt; brother Dan Gardner (Mary); brother-in-law Raymond Modesitt (Carol); sister-in-law Melinda Modesitt; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Sunday, July 31, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights, with a Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m.

Interment will take place at a later date at Hebron Cemetery in Russellville, IN.
