Don't Miss: Yorktown Grange Fair Sept. 10-13

Contests, magic shows, music, tractors, rides, games, food!

There are few things that get kids more excited than going to a fair.

Brightly colored carnival rides spinning and twisting, midway game booths hung with alluring prizes, funnel cakes and cotton candy – all the irresistible attractions of carnivals everywhere. The Yorktown Grange Fair has all that and lots more to appeal to kids and adults alike.

The only remaining true country fair in Westchester County, the Grange Fair is celebrating its 91st year from Thursday, September 10th to Sunday, September 13th. And as always, in addition to the carnival rides, midway games, and fun food, the Grange Fair also celebrates Yorktown’s agricultural heritage with livestock, produce, and flower exhibits and competitions.

Which means that, in between turns on the Tilt-a-Whirl and the ferris wheel, fairgoers of all ages are delighted to see various breeds of cows, horses, goats, and sheep in the livestock tents. There will also be plenty of demonstrations in the horse ring such as an oxen pull, horses barrel racing, canine agility show, and costumed animal competitions. All the special events and judgings will be posted each day in the livestock area.

But that’s just the beginning of what the Grange Fair has to offer. Check out some of the additional activities for the kids at this year’s fair:
