The Yorktown Trail Town Committee hosts a hike up Turkey Mountain and a nature walk and bike ride on the North County Trailway on June 6.

The Yorktown Trail Town Committee kicks off its promotion of the local hiking, biking and walking trails with a special event Saturday.

- Location: At Railroad Station Park, along the North County Trailway, Commerce Street, Yorktown Heights
A reception will follow the ceremony at Trailside Café, 1807 Commerce St., directly across from the Park.
Copies of the Committee’s new brochure, The North County Trailway at Yorktown Heights, will be available. The brochure features a commissioned map of the Trailway as it passes through the Heights hamlet.

After the brief welcoming ceremony, the Committee will be hosting a hike up Turkey Mountain, and a bike ride and nature walk on the North County Trailway.
The Yorktown Trail Town Committee is a volunteer committee formed in September 2014 to promote the Town of Yorktown. Comprised of local residents and business owners, the committee seeks to leverage the existing network of foot/bike trails throughout town as a way of promoting sustainable economic development as well as providing greater recreational, health and social benefits to its residents and visitors.
