Yorktown police were called to Sparkle Lake Park at 1:41 p.m. Tuesday by town recreation and parks personnel to alert them about possible alcohol consumption at the park.
Police arrived at the park and, after an investigation, arrested a 16-year-old boy whom they said possessed an open container of beer while sitting in a car.
He was released after a parent was notified. He’s due in court April 12 to face the charge of violating town code by having an open container of alcohol in a public place.
