Driver Arrested, Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Telephone Pole In Somers: NYSP
The 45-year-old, who was not seriously injured, had a blood alcohol content of 0.35 percent, according to state police.
SOMERS, NY — A bad decision ended with a crash, according to police.
The New York State Police say that on Tuesday, around 5:45 p.m., troopers responded to West Hill Drive, in the Town of Somers, after receiving a report about property damage after a vehicle struck a utility pole.
No injuries were reported.

During the investigation, troopers report that the driver and only occupant of the vehicle, 45-year-old Maria Martinez De Luca, of Somers, displayed signs of intoxication. Troopers then administered standardized field sobriety tests, which she then failed, according to NYSP.
De Luca was arrested and take to State Police Somers for processing, where she submitted to a chemical breath test, resulting in a blood alcohol content of 0.35 percent.

De Luca was charged with aggravated DWI: per se-BAC 0.18 percent or more, no prior offenses; and DWI, both misdemeanors.
She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Somers Court on July 6. After processing, De Luca was taken to an area medical facility for evaluation.
