Dutchess County Woman Accused Of Stealing From Macy's

Police said the incident occurred in August.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Dutchess County woman was arrested after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Macy's during the summer.

Yorktown police said Nema S. Simpson, 31, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Police said, around 6 p.m. Aug. 28, Simpson went into the store and stole items worth $5,503.86.

She was identified and arrested Dec. 28.

After processing, Simpson was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.

She is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 4.
