Who Is My Neighbor? Overcoming Our Fears of Muslims
The Yorktown Clergy Association and their congregations invite the public to view two movies on our Muslims neighbors. Contrary to the messages of the media that Islam breeds terrorists and Muslims are our enemies, these movies present a people that seeks to be as faithful to their tradition as Christians and Jews are to theirs, and that wants to be good citizens.
At 5:30 pm, the movie Allah Made Me Funny features live stand-up performances by Azhar Usman, Preacher Moss and Mohammed Amer as well as behind the scenes sequences highlighting the individual comedians. The trio poke fun at Muslims and non-Muslims alike and their comedic material plays with stereotypes to invite people to think outside of their fixed cultural perceptions. (www.imdb.com)

At 7:30 pm, the movie Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think will be shown, with a discussion afterwards.
As part of a groundbreaking six-year project, Gallup conducted tens of thousands of interviews with residents in 35 predominantly Muslim nations, as well as smaller populations in Europe and the USA. The broad extent of the polling has delivered findings for the world’s 1.4 billion Muslims with a plus or minus accuracy of 3%. Focused on the issues of Gender Justice, Terrorism, and Democracy –the film presents this remarkable data deftly, showing how it challenges the popular notion that Muslims and the West are on a collision course. Like the research, the film highlights a shared relationship that is based on facts – not fear. (www.snagfilms.com)
