Motorists are advised that various lane closures are planned on the southbound Taconic State Parkway between NY 134 (Kitchawan Road) and the Saw Mill River Parkway Thursday and Friday, Oct. 6 and 7.
The closures will take place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. for construction activities and affect the areas of Yorktown, New Castle and Mount Pleasant.
Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.

Travelers are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
