Fred E. Price: Retired Westchester County Police Officer

The Somers resident was 63.

Fred Eugene Price, age 63, of Somers, NY passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY after a long struggle with chronic Multiple Sclerosis.

Fred was born on December 3, 1951 in Oceanside, NY to Winifred Golding and Seymour Jack Price. He resided in Westchester County for the majority of his life. Fred graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1969, attended Westchester Community College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts/Social Sciences in 1971. He later attended and graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Political Science and from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Master’s in Public Administration.

Before retiring Fred served for over 20 years as a Police Officer for the Westchester County Department of Public Safety/Sheriff’s Department. And in 1996 he received his Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law.

Fred is survived by his son, Stephen of Deerfield Beach, FL, daughter Lauren of New Windsor, NY and ex-wife Susan of New Windsor, NY, as well as Fred’s sister Deborah, nephew Adam and cousins Judy, Johnny, Frank and Blake Golding.
Fred is predeceased by his mother Winifred who passed December 18, 2013.

The Price family would like to especially thank all the aids who have assisted Fred over the years, gone above and beyond for him and in many ways been family to him. No words can express our gratitude for all the kind and heartfelt care that was provided for Fred.

According to Fred’s last wishes, his remains will de disbursed on the beaches of Cape Cod by his children, where many summers were spent when they were children.

Cassidy Flynn funeral home in Mt. Kisco is handling arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held privately for close friends and family.
