Free Overdose Prevention Training Set in Yorktown
The session will teach attendees how to recognize a heroin or opioid overdose and how to prevent death.
YORKTOWN, NY — A free overdose prevention training session will be held at the Counseling Center at Yorktown Heights.
The center is hosting the event in partnership with Drug Crisis in Our Backyard.
The training will take place at 6 p.m. August 24 at 2000 Maple Hill St., Suite 101, in Yorktown Heights.

During the two-hour session, attendees will learn how to recognize a heroin or opioid overdose and be given step-by-step instructions on how to use Narcan to prevent death.
Also stories will be shared by those who have experience in overdose situations.
