Fugitive From Justice Accused Of Assaulting, Choking Woman
Police said the New Hampshire man threw the woman to the ground and punched her in the face.
YORKTOWN, NY — A New Hampshire resident, who police said is a fugitive from justice, was accused of throwing a woman to the ground and choking her.
The Yorktown Police Department said Dominick V. Rocco, 31, of Hampton, New Hampshire, was charged Sunday with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also accused of felony fugitive from justice.
Police said, shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday, officers went to a Mohegan Lake home for a report of a domestic incident in progress.

The victim was interviewed by police and said Rocco had just fled the scene.
Other officers said they saw the man's car traveling east on Route 6. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection with the Taconic State Parkway and Rocco was arrested.

Police said he threw a woman to the ground, punched her in the face and choked her.
Rocco was also found to have oxycontin and Xanax, according to authorities.
When he was fingerprinted at police headquarters, it was discovered he had an open extraditable felony warrant that had been issued in New Hampshire.
He was charged as a fugitive from justice and arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court.
Rocco was sent to the Westchester County Jail on the fugitive charge.
Additionally, he was held in lieu of $10,000 bail, $25,000 secured bond or $100,000 partial secured bond stemming from the three other charges.
Rocco is scheduled to appear virtually in Yorktown Justice Court Tuesday.
