Funeral Held For NYPD Officer Killed By Friendly Fire
Brian Mulkeen served in the NYPD for almost seven years.

YORKTOWN, NY — The funeral of NYPD Officer Brian Mulkeen was held Friday in the Orange County town where he grew up. The 33-year-old Yorktown resident was killed by friendly fire in the Bronx a week ago during a struggle with an armed man.
James P. O'Neill, commissioner of the NYPD, said Mulkeen is gone but will never be forgotten.
"Because as long as the NYPD exists we will forever honor him, every day, by continuing the work he died doing," he said. "Like Brian did we vow to always stand against fear, violence and anyone who dares threaten us."
