Gift for Cancer Research from Penny Lane Dancers
The Somers and Chappaqua dance academy family raised the money selling tickets to their holiday performance.

More than two dozen Westchester kids, including two who are battling cancer, presented a giant check for children’s cancer research before doing a brief holiday dance performance on Sunday at the Jefferson Valley Mall.
The youngsters were performers from the Penny Lane Dance Academy of Somers and Chappaqua, which gave $4,123 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a children’s cancer research and support foundation.
The Penny Lane dancers chose to give the money to Alex’s Lemonade Stand after learning that two members of the academy family were fighting cancer. The money was raised by selling tickets to their annual holiday show, which was held earlier this month in Yorktown.
