Gladys Olson: Former Yorktown Resident

Gladys (Johnson) Olson, passed away on March 17, 2017. She was 95 years old. Devoted wife of the late Robert Olson (1969) and sister of the late Aeline (Johnson) Schwabik (2012)

The daughter of John F. and Hilda Johnson, she was born and grew up on Colden Ave, in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived in Yorktown Heights, NY, Boca Raton, Florida, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Anaheim, CA, before moving to Cedar Grove, California. She resided and was cared for at Orangegrove Rehabilitation Hospital and Nursing Home, Garden Grove, CA.

She was confirmed at the Messiah Lutheran Church at New York City and was married to her beloved husband Robert, at the Swedish Emanuel Church in Mount Vernon, N.Y., in 1944.

Gladys was a member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.

Her loving sister Aeline (Johnson) Schwabik, formally of Peekskill, N.Y., passed away November 7, 2012; also at the age of 95. An older sister, Hulda Johnson, died at the very early age of five. She is survived by a niece, Karen (Schwabik) Quinn, of Woodcliff Lake, NJ., nephews; Kenneth Schwabik of Oradell, NJ, and Robert Schwabik of Salem, VA.

Cremation was from Westminster Memorial Park Funeral Home, Orange County, CA.

Arrangements for interment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, N.Y., to follow.
