Hazardous Weather: National Weather Service

Dense fog may come to the Yorktown area today.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Rockland and Westchester counties:

THE COMBINATION OF A WARM...MOIST AIRMASS...AND LIGHT WINDS HAS RESULTED IN AREAS OF FOG DEVELOPING. SOME OF THIS FOG WILL BE LOCALLY DENSE...AND MAY BECOME WIDESPREAD LATER THIS MORNING. A DENSE FOG MAY BE NEEDED LATER THIS MORNING. BE ALERT FOR RAPIDLY LOWERING VISIBILITIES...SLOW DOWN...AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.

“Look at these temperatures… forecast highs around 20° above average!” said Bill Potter from Hudson Valley Weather. “Also worth mentioning, is the record high of 58° is very much in jeopardy. We’ll keep an eye on it… but don’t be surprised if that record falls on Monday.”
