Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Northern Westchester

Today and tomorrow will be really hot--followed by heavy rain and possible flash flooding. Get the details for Somers and Yorktown.

Expect much higher than normal temperatures through Wednesday in Westchester County.

“Summer is going to dig its heels in across the Northeast for much of the week,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson, “as it will feel more like late July or early August rather than September.”

Later in the week, a cold front will slowly push the heat out into the Atlantic. Expect rain and thunderstorms and even some flash flooding, the National Weather Service says.

That will be a good thing for Rockland County, where a month of below-average rainfall has officials urging residents to conserve water.
