Joan Rogers Burbank, Former Yorktown Height Resident, Dies at 84
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in New Hampshire.

YORKTOWN, NY — Joan Rogers Burbank, 84, died October 3, 2016, at Kirkwood Corners in Lee, NH as a result of Alzheimers. She was born July 4, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late William and Rose (Russo) Rogers. Joan grew up in South Ozone Park in Queens, NY.
On October 3, 1953, she married Jerome B. Burbank Jr. She was a 58-year resident of Yorktown Heights, NY. Joan was an active parishioner at St. Patrick Parish in Yorktown where she served as Eucharistic minister, lector and in various other volunteer jobs.
Always a hard worker, Joan was employed as a secretary for General Foods and Yorktown Central School District. She also worked as an administrative assistant at Reader's Digest. After her retirement, she continued to work two days a week for Pepsi Co. in their legal department.

Joan's favorite place on earth was Long Beach Island, NJ where she vacationed frequently. She was an extraordinary cook, and was known for her amazing cookies, especially at Christmas time! Joan's other passions included reading, theater and all things Christmas! Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joan was predeceased by her husband who died in 1979, her daughter, Susan Lanphear who died in 2016, her sister, Corinne Holsky, her son-in-law, David Ouellette, and her grandson, Daniel Ouellette.

She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Burbank of Auburn, ME., her daughter, Karen Ouellette of Epping, NH, son-in-law, Kevin Lanphear of Jericho, VT., grandchildren, Robin Miller and her husband Gary, Scott Lanphear, Sarah Kaplan and her husband Michael, James Ouellette, Eric Ouellette and great grandchildren, Autumn, Maggie, and Stella.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Epping, NH. Burial will be in Amawalk Hill Cemetery, Yorktown Heights, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
